28 - 29 May A group of Chinese players from Xi'an visited Brisbane to play a friendly team match. We hosted a banquet on the Friday evening, with the match and a BBQ on the Saturday. Xi'an came out winners by 12 - 6. We plan to get a team together to visit Xi'an in 2011 for a return match - if interested contact John Hardy.

17 - 18 April The 7th Keio Old Boys visit took place on this weekend. The Keio team comprised 19 players and we managed to match this number exactly. The Keio team won by 22 - 16. The activities included dinners hosted by Keio on Saturday evening, and by BGC on Sunday.

3 - 4 March In a historic event, Mr. Wang Runan 8P, President of the Chinese Weiqi Association, visited Brisbane with a small party of go players and wives. BGC hosted a banquet on the Wednesday evening, accompanied by friendly go playing at the Rasa Malaysian restaurant. On the Thursday evening we held a BBQ dinner with friendly go play at St. Mark's Church in Mt. Gravatt. Mr. Wang himself is very approachable (I was surprised to find that he speaks Japanese) and the other players, mainly high level businessmen, were also friendly. Overall the event is rated a success, and there may be the possibility of a repeat sometime in the future. Also, it may be possible to organise a visit to China for friendly matches - anyone interested should contact John Hardy.

6 - 7 February The Queensland Go Championship was held at the University of Qld. The Open Division was won by Markus Pache 4D, and the Kyu Division was won by Amelia Gray 2K. The event was well organised by Horatio Davis and a team of our younger members. Well done, as everyone enjoyed themselves.

17 January A group of BGC players and a few friends played an internet match on KGS against a team from Keio Old Boys. Brisbane team won 10.5 to 1.5.

14 January The Chermside meetings are now on second and fourth Friday evenings at Critical Mass in Chermside public library.
