2009 Annual General Meeting
An annual general meeting of the club will be held at lunchtime on the first day of the 2009
Queensland Go Championships.
That is, noon on Saturday the twenty-eighth of March at the Brisbane Bridge Centre, 104
Frederick Street, Annerley. The agenda for the meeting is:
- Confirmation of the minutes of the 2008 annual general meeting.
- Annual report of the president.
- Annual report of the secretary.
- Annual report of the treasurer.
- Consideration, and if thought fit, adoption of the 2008 financial statement by the meeting.
- Retirement and election of officers.
- President
- Secretary
- Treasurer
- Management committee members.
- Motions on notice.
- That the club's membership fees for 2009 be $25 for ordinary members,
$15 for students, and $0 for associate members, and that members who sign up near the end of
a membership year be considered financial through the next year at the discretion of the club.
- General business.
- Notices of motion.
The term of office of all members of the club committee is until the next annual general meeting; i.e. we
will elect fresh officers for 2009. There are no term limits (so you can re-elect the ones we have now), but
nominations require seconding by a member and the consent of the candidate. Mark Bell, Horatio Davis, John Hardy, Larry Wen and Amelia
Gray are willing to serve again in their current roles (president, secretary, treasurer and two ordinary
committee members), but so far I am in receipt of no formal nominations for any office.
Unless some come in (email the secretary, and get someone to second
the nomination in writing) we will be doing this from the floor of the meeting.
There are no items of general business so far.
Any items you do have are welcome; email the secretary
with them. Items that do not come attached to motions will be summarily tabled: less meeting, more lunch.
